There are many ways that an active investor can approach the market, some profitable but most not. Our philosophy is to apply both technical and fundamental analysis to unearth high probability opportunities in the equities markets and combine them in a diversified portfolio. More emphasis is given to technical analysis as a timing mechanism for medium-term to long-term trading. This is based on the premise that everything known and unknown about a stock is built into its price action which leads to positive or negative sentiment about the stock which in turn will lead to a positive or negative momentum of its price action. Our fundamental analysis is applied only in our long-term methodology.
Whilst technical analysis has become mainstream in the analysis of financial markets since the mid 1990's we have taken it a step further. We have rigorously researched the price action of thousands of stocks over tha last 20 years using computer models and, using statistical probability, have devised medium-term and long-term Edges that put the odds in favour of the active investor.
Our Edges are 100% mechanical, meaning that there is no ambiguity about a stock being an 'open' trade or a 'closed' trade just as there is absolutely no ambiguity about the occurrence of a buy signal or a sell signal. Because the systems are 100% mechanical we are able to research and exactly specify our Edges in statistical probability terms and in portfolio equity curve graphical terms.
So what? What does this mean to you and our existing customers? It means that if you execute the Edges according to their researched rules and processes you will be able to repeat the profitability of the Edge. And by doing so you have a far greater probability of achieving profitability by using a rigorously research Edge that has emanated from the market, than trying to use a decision support system that has not emanated from the market.
This philosophy has stood me in good stead with my own trading just as it has stood a very high percentage of our customers in good stead with their trading outcomes. Why? Because it works.
